BRAND STYLE GUIDE - 2024

The project involves creating a comprehensive style guide for a logo, with a focus on both content and layout.

A branding style guide is a document that defines a brand’s visual and verbal identity, ensuring consistency across all communications. It includes guidelines for the logo, typography, color palette, imagery, and tone of voice, detailing their proper usage across various platforms. The guide ensures the brand remains cohesive and recognizable by providing clear instructions on how to apply these elements correctly.

Softwares that were used in order to create this brand guide include Adobe InDesign (document layout) & Photoshop (mockups).

CHALLENGES

Designing a brand style guide involves addressing several challenges, such as understanding the brand’s identity, ensuring consistency across diverse platforms, and appealing to a target audience. The main obstacle consisted of properly conveying the brand’s essence into a cohesive visual language while balancing creativity with functionality. Misaligned expectations between the client and the designer, or ambiguous brand messaging can further complicate the process.

SOLUTIONS

To overcome these challenges, I started by conducting thorough research, including a moodboard, to understand the brand’s goals, values, and audience. Clear communication with the client ensures alignment on vision and expectations. In addition, creating iterations helps refine the visual direction, while regular and consistent feedback on the client's behalf ensures that adjustments are made early in the process.

PROCESS

The process typically begins with meeting sessions to uncover the brand’s core attributes. The process then consists of creating initial drafts of key elements, such as the logo, typography, and color palette. These elements are refined through rounds of feedback before compiling them into the style guide. The guide is structured to include sections for visual identity, tone of voice, and usage guidelines for consistency across applications.

OUTCOME

The final brand style guide serves as a comprehensive reference for maintaining brand integrity across all touchpoints. It empowers the brand to deliver a consistent and memorable experience to its audience, ensuring that every design decision— from marketing materials to digital interfaces— aligns with the brand’s identity and values.
